A guide drives up to eight people from the Hard Rock Cafe on Avenida da Liberdade to Pena, Sintra village, Cabo da Roca and Cascais. Pick it for a well-run Pena visit and the coast; Regaleira comes only with the "Upgrade to include Regaleira" option.

This is the most-reviewed trip on our list, and it's built around Pena and the coast. You meet the guide in front of the Hard Rock Cafe on Avenida da Liberdade, ride in a minivan of up to eight, and spend up to two hours at Pena, an hour in Sintra's historic centre, 30 minutes at Cabo da Roca and 90 minutes in Cascais, passing Guincho beach, Boca do Inferno and the Estoril casino on the way.
Regaleira is the catch. The options are no tickets, the Pena park, the park and palace, a private tour, and "Upgrade to include Regaleira". Only the upgrade gets you in: the listing then gives 90 minutes at Quinta da Regaleira. The written itinerary for the other options has the van drive past Regaleira and Monserrate on the way to Cabo da Roca. If the estate is why you're going, book the upgrade, and confirm with the guide in the morning where the stop fits in the day.
The no-tickets option has its own trap: same-day Pena palace tickets can run out, and the fallback is waiting near the park entrance or buying a park-only ticket. There's no room in the vans for strollers or luggage, and child seats are mandatory for ages 0 to 11 (available on request if you give ages at booking). Guests rate the guides highly; one reviewer only wished for more time at Regaleira.
Av. da Liberdade 2. The guide often parks underground, so don't worry if you don't see a van arrive.
A viewpoint over the palace, then the park or a guided visit inside, depending on your option.
A walk with the guide and free time for lunch or a queijada.
With the upgrade, the well, the tunnels and the palace. The well and the palace are self-guided under the estate's rules.
Mainland Europe's westernmost point, then past Guincho beach and Boca do Inferno.
A walk through the old fishing town to the beach, then back to Lisbon along the Estoril coast.
★★★★★At Pena Palace, the group tour was very well organized and we had ample time to explore the building and grounds despite some inclement weather. [...] My only recommendation to the tour operator is to build in more time for guests to see the ruins of the Moorish Castle, as well as Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra.
★★★★★Everything was well thought through from the pick up location, timing of the tour/ visiting the palaces and time provided for long lunch/ ability to see Cascais.
★★★★★There was a small number in our group (8) and Xavier was an excellent guide. He was engaging, knowledgable and funny. He was also a great driver on very challenging roads.

Only with the "Upgrade to include Regaleira" option, which gives 90 minutes there. The other options drive past it.
The hour in the historic centre is short for it: Regaleira is 10 to 15 minutes' walk uphill each way and most visitors need 2 hours inside. The upgrade is the realistic way to fit it in.
