EasyEscape Tours · Sintra
You take the train to Sintra yourself and meet a local guide by Portela de Sintra station for four hours: Pena's terraces, the old town, then 90 minutes at Quinta da Regaleira, where the tour ends. Pick it if you'd rather skip a day in a van and still have someone sort the timed tickets.

EasyEscape Tours runs this half day out of Sintra itself, for up to 14 people with one language per departure. You meet at the Pérola da Portela café on Largo Vasco da Gama, a short walk from Portela de Sintra station, one stop before the end of the line. Get off there, not at Sintra. From the meeting point a vehicle takes the group up to Pena for 75 minutes on the terraces and in the gardens, then down to the old town for 30 minutes.
The last stop is 90 minutes at Quinta da Regaleira, and the tour finishes inside the estate. You can stay as long as you like, which is the quiet advantage of this one: no van leaves without you. From the gate it's about 15 minutes on foot back to the historic centre and the buses to the station.
Neither entry is in the $74 price. The guide reserves your tickets after you book and you pay in cash on the day: EUR 12 for Pena's terraces, chapel and gardens (not the palace rooms) and EUR 20 for Regaleira, the official 2026 adult price. It's also a walking tour in all but name: the listing counts 7 to 8 km on cobbles and stairs, with two uphill stretches of about 15 minutes each.
Largo Vasco da Gama 7, near Portela de Sintra station. Check the reminder message: the meeting time can differ from the tour time.
A guided walk on the terraces, the chapel and the gardens around the palace. The rooms inside are not included.
A guided walk through the historic centre, with time for a pastry.
The guide leads you through the gardens, grottoes and tunnels. The well and the palace are on your own, as the estate requires.
The tour ends at Regaleira. Keep exploring, or walk about 15 minutes back to the historic centre.
★★★★★Our guide Barth was fantastic: funny, knowledgeable and super efficient - we booked the afternoon tour and Barth, being such a pro guide, managed to time the visits in a way, that at the end, we entered the Well in Regaleira basically alone [...] what a treat - thank you!
★★★★★He dropped us off close to Pena Palace to minimize the uphill walking, and because we were with him, we skipped all the lines at both the palace and Quinta da Regaleira [...]
★★★★★Pedro was amazing, very informative, knowledgeable & a lot of humor. [...] Quinta Regaleira is a very special place & the gardens.
★★★★★He shared lots of interesting information about Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira [...] He also gave us great recommendations for restaurants and other places to check out nearby.
