A private guide drives your group from your Lisbon hotel to Sintra for 45 minutes in the old centre and two hours at Quinta da Regaleira, then back in about four hours. Pick it if Regaleira is the point of the trip: the ticket is in the price and no other tour here gives you longer inside.
This is the only tour on our list built around Regaleira alone. Your own guide collects you from your hotel, gives you 45 minutes in Sintra's old centre for pastries and a look around, then spends two hours at Quinta da Regaleira. The ticket is included, along with bottled water and Wi-Fi in the car. One guest reports pickup at 9:00 and back at the hotel at 1:00 on the dot.
Two hours is close to what independent visitors take, so you can do the Initiation Well, the tunnel to the Eastern Grotto, the chapel and the palace without rushing. Your guide leads you around the gardens and grottoes, but the estate's rules keep outside guides out of the palace and the well. You descend the well yourself.
The rating is the lowest on our list, at 4.6. The lower reviews mention guides who knew more about Portugal than about the estate, and one booking where the planned slot was sold out and the group never got in. Ask the operator for your entry time when you book. It's priced per person by group size, so it works out best for three or four people.
