Picta Travel · Lisbon
Picta Travel sends a guide and driver to your Lisbon hotel for eight hours in Sintra and along the coast, with 90 minutes at Quinta da Regaleira and a route you can change. Pick it for the flexibility and the guides, who have one of the best records on this site.

Picta Travel's private day is a template you can bend. The default route gives 35 minutes in Sintra's centre, 90 minutes at Quinta da Regaleira, a look at Monserrate from outside, Azenhas do Mar, lunch time at Praia Grande, Cabo da Roca and 90 minutes at Pena, passing the Moorish Castle. Want Pena first, or the Moorish Castle instead of the beach? Ask. Groups can be from one to 15 people.
The tickets are extra, and here the listing needs a correction. It prices Regaleira at EUR 25 per person; the official 2026 adult price is EUR 20 (EUR 15 for ages 6 to 17 and over-65s). It also lists Pena Park at EUR 15, while the Parques de Sintra price for the park alone is EUR 12, or EUR 20 with the palace. Message the operator if you want them to pre-book, or buy your own Regaleira ticket on the official shop and pay the real price.
The listing promises guided tours inside chosen monuments. That works at Pena with the right ticket, but not at Regaleira: the estate's rules keep outside guides out of the palace and the Initiation Well, so there your guide covers the gardens and grottoes and you do the well alone. The price is per person and falls as your group grows, which makes it good value for four or more.
From your hotel, Airbnb or the cruise port, in an air-conditioned car.
A first walk through the village.
Gardens and grottoes with your guide, then the well and the palace on your own.
A look at Monserrate from outside, then the cliff-top village above the sea.
Lunch time by the beach, then mainland Europe's westernmost point.
The park and palace, past the Moorish Castle, before the drive back to Lisbon.
★★★★★At Quinta da Regaleira, Pedro transformed every corner of the estate into a story worth hearing. The famous Initiation Well, the secret tunnels, the symbolism hidden throughout the property [...] he explained it all in a way that was engaging, easy to understand, and never felt like a history lecture.
★★★★★They did an excellent job of keeping us informed of ticket options and putting together our tour. [...] Regaleira was interesting as we went down the well, out, through the Palace and out the gate where Rodrigo picked us up, right as planned.
★★★★★He was casual, and never rushed us, and yet helped us see everything we wanted. Great lunch spot overlooking the ocean with a super recommendation for the octopus dish.
★★★★★We encountered rain through the day, which can make the ground slippery, so highly recommend wearing shoes with good traction.
